In alignment with the University Guest Guidelines, the library is only able to allow current UIS students, staff, and faculty to study in the library. This includes printing, scanning, and browsing the stacks. Current library card holders (alumni cards, friends of the library cards, and Lincoln Library reciprocal cards) can continue to use our Grab-and-Go service to request and check out materials.
Computers
The computers in Brookens Library are provided for the use of all students, faculty, staff, and community members. All activities must adhere to the UIS Guidelines for Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.
Logging in
Student, faculty, and staff should use their NetID and password to login to the computers.
Saving Documents
Please do not save files directly to the computers, as computers are wiped daily. It is recommended that files be saved to a cloud storage option such as Box or Google Drive.
Guest Access
Community members are required to obtain a guest login from the library main desk in order to use library computers.
Wifi
Wireless access is available to students, faculty, and staff with a valid netID by connecting to UISWiFi.
Guest Access
Any guest user who connects to the UISGuest wifi will be prompted for a personal email address and must read and accept the Acceptable Use Policy before being granted access. For problems accessing the network as a guest user, please visit the ITS Client Services Center in the lower level of Brookens Library or call (217) 206-6000.
