Library Research for COM 405 Editing - Finding Facts

This site will give you an overview and suggested sources for finding reliable, factual information.

Along with excellent writing style and grammar, you want your writing to be factually accurate. Nowadays we are awash in information, so not only do you need to find the fact in question, but you need to know that it is from a reliable, trustworthy source. This is where using tried-and-true reference sources is your best bet.

It is also important to think about what kind of source would have the fact you are looking for. A lot of factual information can be found in reference books, though for more obscure information you may have to hunt for the fact within books, articles or websites.
