The federal government is one of the largest producers of information on the planet. The different agencies publish information on every subject imaginable. Most current federal publications may be found on the Internet. The federal agencies are using their websites as a way to disseminate information directly to the public.
This site provides access to the wealth of federal government information for Blackburn College students, faculty, and staff, as well as for the community at large. On the left are links to resources by subject, concentrating on topics relevant to the curriculum at Blackburn and issues important for the citizens of Central Illinois. There are around 300 links to information sources, from portal/multiple agency websites to specific publications, with descriptions for each resource.
Keep in mind this is not a comprehensive guide to all the federal government publications, especially older publications. Blackburn's Lumpkin Library and UIS's Brookens Library have a collection of print, microfiche, and CD-ROM publications. Also, the Illinois State Library has a comprehensive collection of federal government publications, and most of them may be Interlibrary Loaned.
