Off-Campus Access to Resources
To access UIS-specific materials from an off-campus location, you will need your NetID and NetID password. When you click a link for a proprietary resource, a box will pop up asking for your information. It will look similar to this one:

When you registered for classes, you were automatically given a UIS NetID account. This acts as your Enterprise ID for class registration, UIS e-mail, Blackboard, and accessing library databases off-campus. If you are unsure of your NetID or your NetID password, visit http://www.uis.edu/cts/techsupport/passwords.html.
Some faculty members have reported problems logging in to library databases from off campus. If you are using the VPN client in order to use Outlook to access your UIS e-mail from home, you will need to turn off the VPN client in order to successfully log into the library databases via the proxy server. If you are not seeing the small pop-up window (pictured above) before going to the database, this is an indication that the VPN client is interfering with the proxy server.
If you continue to have problems, contact the UIS Technology Support Center at 217-206-6000, 217-206-TECH, or toll-free 1-877-847-0443, or e-mail techsupport@uis.edu.
