Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a cooperative effort in which
library materials are made available from one library to another.
All current UIS faculty, staff, and students may submit interlibrary
loan requests for materials not held in Brookens Library's
collection. Request forms are available through electronic
ILL Forms or at the Information Desk on Level 2. Allow
a minimum of 1 to 3 weeks for delivery.
Materials available through ILL include copies of magazine,
journal and newspaper articles, government documents, and
books not available through the I-Share Catalog.
Material not available through ILL includes reference materials,
musical scores, videos or films, and entire issues of journals.
The loan period for materials through ILL is set by the lending
library and varies from two to six weeks. Books, documents,
microfiche, etc. are due on the day stated on the green flyer
attached to the item. For articles, a photocopy of the article
will be mailed to the address on the form.
For questions on status, renewals, or processing of ILL requests
please e-mail the ILL department at lib-ill@uis.edu
or call 217-206-6601.
